- Northern Lights Gallery was established in March, 1998, to provide a showcase for the very finest art being produced in the world today. The gallery specializes in glass with more than thirty artists from both the U. S. and Canada. Most of the artists are graduates of Washington States prestigious Pilchuck School. Northern Lights is the only gallery in Western Canada specializing in glass.Russian Lacquer is also featured in the gallery. Northern Lights always stocks at least 100 works from the artists of Palekh, Fedoskino, Mstera and Kholui. In addition, the gallery owner is one of the very few dealers in North America qualified to appraise Russian Lacquer and has written extensively on the subject.Northern Lights fulfills the vision of Christopher Key who has more than seven years experience in managing art galleries. He has worked for the prestigious Emerald City Gallery in Seattles Westin Hotel and the Emerald Fox Gallery in Leavenworth. Key holds a BA degree in Liberal Studies from Antioch University and is a published poet, songwriter and playwright.Part of the gallerys purpose is to support fine arts in Canada and to this end Northern Lights has been seeking out glass artists and adding about one a week to the collection. The gallery is located on Gallery Row in the beautiful Delta Whistler Resort in Whistler, BC. Once the Whistler gallery is solidly established, the company plans to open on South Granville Street in Vancouver.
